Jennifer Lynn Lopez is one of the most celebrated superstar singer, actress and also a performer. She was born on July 24, 1970. Her parents travelled to New York from Ponce, Puerto Rico. Her father is a computer operations manager by profession and her mother is a kindergarten teacher. She is the wealthiest Latin American in Hollywood as declared by Forbes magazine. She is also the most influential Hispanic entertainer in America. Since childhood, Jennifer always wanted to be a performer.
At the age of 7, young Jennifer traveled around New York City along with her dance groups. Jennifer completed her graduation in 1987 from Preston High School, and she was admitted to the Baruch College in New York City, but left the school after a semester.
At the age of 16 Jennifer played a part in the film "My Little Girl", her co star was Mary Stuart Masterson. But Jennifer's passion still remained dance, and when came across the news of a scholarship to a dance school in Manhattan, she just grabbed the opportunity. She took a full time course at Baruch and also worked in a law office and simultaneously went to her dance classes.
She grew up some differences with her mother, who didn't want Jennifer to pursue dance as a career. She spoke up to her mother and gave her the ever popular speech "you live by my rules as long as you live under my roof". Not having anywhere else to live, she went to stay in a building where she took her dance classes.
Even after a year and a half of auditioning, she did not receive any successful promotions. Lopez was on the verge of a breakdown. Jennifer then somehow managed a dancing role as one of "The Fly Girls" on a production of "In Living Color". Subsequently, she was given a prominent place in her next film, "The Money Train", with Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson. Jennifer's next role was that of Selena, which brought her much publicity. Her dancing and vocal talent was recognized by the mass. Eventually Lopez became one of the 50 Most Beautiful People of the People Magazine.
