
Sandra Bullock was born in Arlington County, Virginia, on July 26, 1964. Her father, John Bullock, was a vocal coach and her mother, Helga Meyer, was an opera singer.
Sandra Bullock went to the Washington-Lee High School in Virginia where she was a popular cheerleader. After Washington-Lee High School she attended the East Carolina University of Greenville in North Carolina. She did not finish her studies in order to pursue a career in acting and went to Hollywood. Sandra participated in a number of dance contests, most of which she won, to earn her living in Hollywood.
Driven by her passion for opera, she learnt to speak German. Her career in acting began with stage performances in opera shows. She received raging reviews for the characters she played on stage. Her first television appearance was in 1989 when she played a small role in The Six-Million-Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman.
After she moved to Los Angeles she got selected in Sylvester Stallone sci-fi action film, “Demolition Man” in the role of a spunky cop. Director Jan De Bont of Hollywood noticed Sandra in this film and offered her a primary role in “Speed”, the film which earned her fame overnight.
She was selected twice in 1996 and 1999 by People magazine among the top 50 Most Beautiful People in the World. Two of her very popular films after “Speed” are “While You Were Sleeping” and “The Net”.
